Secure payments directly from your bank account

PayTo® is a secure payment method that lets you pay from your bank account using your PayID®, or BSB and account number. PayTo agreements are authorised and managed in your online banking, giving you more visibility and control over your money.

Authorise, view and manage payments in one place

Once you authorise a PayTo agreement, payments are processed according to the terms you’ve agreed to. That means you're in control of how much money can be debited.

Agreements can also be viewed and managed in one secure place, making it easy for you to stay on top of your payments.

Check if your bank offers PayTo and how to authorise a PayTo agreement.

Stay scam aware when authorising a PayTo agreement

Scammers may impersonate banks, businesses or government agencies and pressure you to act quickly. Always pause and check the PayTo agreement details before authorising.

  • Only authorise agreements you recognise and expect.
  • Check the business name matches who you intend to pay.
  • Make sure you understand what the agreement is for.
  • If you didn’t request the agreement, don’t authorise it.
  • If you’re told to authorise an agreement to “secure”, “protect” or “move” your money, it’s likely a scam.
  • If you receive an unexpected email or text message, don’t use the links or phone numbers provided.

If you’re unsure, contact your bank through your banking app or another trusted channel.
