Simple, secure identity verification

ConnectID® is a new, secure way to verify your identity using your bank.

verify_connectid

Simple

ConnectID lets you prove who you are using details already stored with your bank. With your consent, your bank securely shares your details with the business requesting it — no identity document uploads needed.

safe_round

Secure

ConnectID never sees or stores your personal information at any time - it's just the bridge that directs your data to where you’ve  authorised it to go.

trusted_dark

Trusted

ConnectID is accredited as an identity exchange by the Australian Government, meeting the strict rules and standards set for privacy and security.

Identity verification prompt Checkout screen prompting the user to verify their identity with ConnectID. The screen explains that identity can be verified through an existing trusted provider, highlights privacy benefits including no banking information or documents being shared, and provides a “Verify with ConnectID” button. A callout notes the process is seamless with no sign-up or app required.
Choose identity provider ConnectID verification screen showing the requested personal details (first name, family name and date of birth) and a list of participating identity providers including Commonwealth Bank, NAB, ANZ Plus, Westpac and ABANK for the user to select.
Secure authentication Authentication screen displaying Face ID during the secure identity verification process with the selected identity provider.
Review and consent Consent screen from the selected identity provider asking the user to confirm sharing their first name, family name and date of birth with the requesting organisation. The screen explains the details will only be shared for identity verification and provides options to share or cancel. A callout highlights secure authentication with customer consent.
Verification complete Checkout screen confirming the user’s identity has been successfully verified with ConnectID. The verified personal details are displayed along with a confirmation badge. A callout indicates that the requested details were shared securely.

Minimise data shared

ConnectID helps you verify your identity while sharing less personal information. For example, buying alcohol online may only require your name and confirmation that you’re over 18, while social media age checks may only need confirmation that you’re over 16 — without needing to share your name or upload identity documents like your driver licence or passport.

This means less of your personal information is shared with businesses, and less information for them to collect and store.

Who is ConnectID available to?

ConnectID is available to customers of CommBank, NAB, ANZ Plus and Westpac.
