Contactless card payments
Contactless card payments

Many debit cards in Australia are multi-network debit (MND) cards, and can be used to make contactless payments through eftpos, or an international card network. When a customer uses a MND card at an MCR-enabled business, the transaction can be processed on the merchant's preferred network.

eftpos offers Tap to Pay on mobile, enabling merchants to easily and securely accept contactless payments from debit cards, and digital wallets via an iPhone or Android device. That means there's no need for additional hardware or payment terminals.

Ecommerce and card-not-present payments

eftpos supports ecommerce and card-not-present (CNP) payments that are made remotely without tapping or processing a physical card via a card reader or terminal (and without entering a PIN manually). Common CNP payments include payments made online, over the phone, or recurring payments where a card is stored on file.

eftpos Click to Pay

In a world-first for online debit card payments, eftpos Click to Pay is soon launching with integrated MCR. eftpos Click to Pay is an online checkout experience that allows consumers to make fast, convenient and secure purchases with no need to manually enter card details.

Empowering small businesses for success

Small businesses are the backbone of the Australian economy. By offering cost-effective payment solutions and widespread acceptance channels, eftpos empowers small businesses to focus on growth and customer satisfaction while reducing operating expenses.

Pricing to support small businesses

From 1 December 2024, eligible small businesses will benefit from reduced interchange fees:

  • 2 cents for all card-present transactions, including payments made via mobile wallets.
  • 3 cents for online card-not-present transactions.

This tailored pricing ensures small businesses can manage costs more effectively, regardless of how customers choose to pay.
